On the EDGE Sports originated out of the need for a good skate sharpening. As a former hockey player and parent of a youth player, I know the frustrations that can go with finding quality skate sharpening. I found myself searching for good skate sharpening, and eventually I decided to take matters into my own hands. In 1997, an article in a trade magazine caught my eye about the Maximum Edge™ Skate Sharpening Process. I contacted the developer of the process, Bob Allen, and went to Windsor, Canada where I was trained in the sharpening process by Bob.

I started working out of my home and then went mobile. I did the skate sharpening for the Sacred Heart University Men's and Women's hockey teams and shortly after opened a small shop in Hamden.

In February 2000, I moved to my current location in Champions Skating Center, Cromwell, Connecticut. The shop has expanded twice and is now a full-service pro-shop with heat transfer appliqués and embroidery all done in-house.
